EDUCATIONAL ISSUES COMMITTEE

The Educational Issues Committee meets weekly to discuss campaigns, policy changes, and current events that have an impact on the quality of post-secondary education. All members who are interested in addressing educational issues are encouraged to attend meetings of the Educational Issues Committee.
The elected representatives to the Board of Governors and Senate are members of this committee and provide regular updates on what is happening at the meetings of the Board of Governors and Senate - more information about these groups appears on their respective pages.

The Educational Issues committee meets to discuss:

  • issues related to the federal, provincial and municipal government decision making which affect the quality of education
  • past and upcoming meetings of the Board of Governors and Senate
  • barriers to education faced by students
  • student debt
  • University policies on student behaviour, grade appeals, etc.

The committee keeps the Board of Directors informed of federal, provincial and municipal government decisions and decisions made by Capilano University, which affect the quality of education. The committee also coordinates an annual educational issues forum to be held on campus and also coordinates local, provincial and national campaigns and events, which promote a quality, accessible and nationally planned education system.
