Museum of Anthropology visit- December 14th

The Capilano University ECCE club will be visiting the Museum of Anthropology at UBC(MOA) on Tuesday December 14th. We would also like to invite students from other programs to join us- we are very curious to share ideas about art, education, philosophy and children with people thinking in other disciplines and programs. We will meet at the entrance- where you pay for admission- at 6pm. If you arrive later, we will start in the main gallery with the poles and then go into the new exhibit through the doors on the right at the bottom of the main gallery. The admission on Tuesdays after 5 is 7$ +tax. Many of the ECCE degree students visited the museum last year. However; they have recently installed two new temporary exhibits in their touring galleries: The work of two Haida artists who have trained and inspired the work of many of their descendants and other Haida artists makes up an exhibit called 'Signed Without Signature' and their is also a new exhibit called 'Man Ray, African Art and the Modernist Lens'. The museum closes at 9- I don't expect we'll stay that late but I also know there is a lot to see and talk about and every time I visit MOA- no matter how much time I leave myself- I always feel rushed. Please send me an e-mail to let me know if you plan to join us so we can know to look for you. Feel free to bring friends or family. The museum does not allow large bags into the galleries but they do have lockers and they allow pictures to be taken of almost everything so you might want to bring a camera.
